“We can not predict what kind of sound will start to ring. The era moves swiftly and the message sought may have changed. However, there is no doubt that we will build a world view that removes all limits and all greed. Saying “like” or “pretty” when talking about musical nature will no longer pass.  There is exactly a “dog-like” world here.”

This is the very first message you see on the artist’s website. It has been translating from Japanese for you to read.  INUSHIKI represents a sound that demonstrates one of the most prominent characteristics of the Japanese underground, which is a rebel nature.  The Japanese underground, like other subcultures around the world, has always been a vehicle for expressing either the beauty of life, the hardship of life, or general discontent with the state of the world.

INUSHIKI brings a fusion of Rock, reggae, gypsy sounds, in their own unique styles to give voice to the animalistic nature of man and the chaotic state of existence.  They shout down oppression and call for a celebration of life.  Their mantra is to be more animal-like.  I believe what they mean by that is to be more pure and close to our true natures like the animals, without inhibition.  Whether you believe in this philosophy or not doesn’t change the fact that their music has a very strong power to move the spirit and to sound their barbaric yalp over the rooftops of the world.
